Reconciliation and Social Work
Given the historical context of social workers with Indigenous people, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has developed calls to action for social work practice to begin to reconcile previous harms associated with the child welfare system. Social workers will encounter Indigenous people within their practice, and it is therefore their responsibility to adhere to the core values of social work to implement the calls to action set in place by the TRC.
