The Couples Corner Counselling is seeking to add to our growing team of practitioners! We are seeking a Registered Social Worker with clinical experience to provide virtual/remote counselling services. The ideal candidate has experience and interest in working with couples and/or families to provide couples counselling, and on occasion, individual counselling. We offer competitive wages and flexible work hours.

The Couples Corner Counselling was established to address the need for professional couples counselling services that support clients in achieving their goals, improving their relationship and/or family life, and in gaining greater insight into their lives. The Couples Corner Counselling is committed to offering quality, researched-based techniques, and tools as we support our clients through challenging times.

Our therapists address issues related, but not limited to:

For couples: relational issues, affairs/infidelity, communication, conflict resolution, financial challenges, parenting, separation/divorce, and sex/intimacy.

For families: strained family relationships, marital issues, concerns about children, improving communication, conflict resolution, building trust and understanding, improving the family dynamic.

For individuals: mental health challenges including depression & anxiety, interpersonal stress, burnout, major life changes, trauma, grief, or to further personal growth and achieve greater self-knowledge.

You will be provided with access to a counselling/practice management program, administrative support, and the flexibility to create your own schedule.

We require that candidates:
·Hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited university

·Are currently registered and “in good standing” with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW)

·Have professional liability insurance

·Upon being contacted for an interview, must provide proof of relevant documents including proof of education; a copy of current NBASW registration; and a copy of current liability insurance

·Use research-based practices, methods, and treatment modalities

·Have clinical/counselling experience

-Have a private space to see clients virtually and remotely

·Have a strong interest in couples counselling

·Be willing to see a minimum of ten clients per week

AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY SOCIAL SERVICES (AHESS) INVENTORY

The Department of Social Development is seeking qualified individuals to work as Social Workers with After Hours Emergency Social Services (AHESS) in the Client Service Delivery Support Branch. The service is located in Moncton, however a telework option from various locations across the province will be considered.

The Department is responsible for providing quality programs and services to all New Brunswickers including children, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities.  AHESS provides an emergency response capacity for Social Development programs and services after regular business hours. The service is offered from 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. during weekdays and on a 24-hour basis on weekends and holidays. The social workers on duty assess referrals and service requests for Child Protection, Children in Care, and Adult Protection to determine the appropriate priority response, as well as approve emergency special benefits for the Income Support Program.  Successful candidates will also be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff members, professionals, community and volunteer agencies, government departments and the public. Other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager of the Primary Health Care Integrated Services Network, the

incumbent works closely with the primary health care providers in the integrated services

network and in partnership with the community receiving services. This role requires

interprofessional and intersectoral collaboration. The main responsibilities of this position

include assessment, crisis intervention, short-term intervention, counselling and referral to

appropriate resources based on needs. The successful candidate will use a person-centred

approach by providing support tailored to individual needs with a view to improving the

individual’s quality of life as well as to promoting effective and efficient use of resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

×         Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers;

×         One year of experience in mental health or addiction services considered an asset;

×         Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training or commitment to take the training as soon as possible

×         after hire;

×         Commitment to take the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) within set time

×         period;

×         Ability to develop effective partnerships with the community network;

×         Ability to provide clients with group sessions;

×         Good knowledge of computer tools;

×         Clinical judgment and good analytical reasoning;

×         Leadership and good decision-making ability;

×         Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
