The NBASW periodically awards exceptional members for their accomplishments in the social work field. Some of these awards are listed below.
Raoul Léger Memorial Award
The Raoul Léger Memorial Award is presented yearly to a social worker in New Brunswick who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of social work and social justice in New Brunswick. This award is presented in memory of Raoul Léger, a social worker who devoted his career and gave his life for the advancement of social justice in Guatemala.
The nomination deadline for this award is February 28th each year.

Debbie Nason Social Work in Health Care Award
The Debbie Nason Social Work in Health Care Award is presented yearly to a social worker who is a current or former member of the NBASW, in memory of Debbie Nason, a social worker who devoted her career to the development and betterment of hospital social work.
The nomination deadline for this award is February 28th each year.

The CASW Distinguished Service Award
The CASW Distinguished Service Award is given yearly by the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) during Social Work Month, to an individual or group of individuals selected from their membership by each provincial association. This award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of social welfare and to the profession of social work in Canada.
The nomination deadline for this award is December 1st each year.
