Consultant Position

The New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW) is looking for a highly motivated and energetic social worker who can write, plan, and think in a fast-paced environment. The Association has over 2,250 members and the mandate to protect the public and promote excellence in social work practice. The NBASW reflects the values of social work, provides ethical leadership, instills public confidence, and promotes excellence in social work practice.

The NBASW is currently seeking a Consultant. This full-time position is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Telework may be negotiated.

The Consultant will play a key role in leading, planning, and supporting the implementation of a Social Work Foreign Credential Recognition Program. Social work is an in-demand health profession and this program aims to bolster foreign social worker recruitment and streamline the process of becoming registered to work as a social worker in New Brunswick. This program is a vital component to the 5-year Social Work Recruitment and Retention Strategy (2023-2028) that the NBASW is leading.

The successful candidate will work with key stakeholders including post-secondary education institutions and the Canadian Association of Social Workers. They will also provide support to applicants through the Foreign Credential Recognition process. The successful candidate will possess strong research and analytical skills and must also have excellent writing skills in order to write policies and to develop the program material. The candidate must also be fluently bilingual in French and English and able to work with partner organizations throughout program development, coordination, and implementation. Other duties will be assigned as needed.

The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities and be able to work well independently and within a small energetic team.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Master of Social Work degree.

The successful candidate will undergo a criminal record check.

The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak English and French. Please ensure that your preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

The position will require travel across the province from time to time.

Salary scale $ 65,450 to $ 88,550 based on education and experience. The NBASW provides competitive employee benefits, including an RRSP employer match of 9%, vacation and sick benefits, and health and dental insurance.
