Lorelei Walsh Park & Associates is offering a permanent part- time employment opportunity (could work full -time splitting time between in person and virtual work) for a Registered Social Worker or Licensed Counselling Therapist with a competitive hourly rate depending on experience, a retention bonus ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 and up to $2500 of relocation assistance. Your Qualifications:

  • Must hold a license in good standing, or be immediately eligible for a license, as a Social Worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers or as a Counselling Therapist with The College of Licensed Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick. Interim Members or Candidates who are seeking employment will be required to find their own College supervision.

  • A Master's degree in Clinical Social Work or in Counselling and Psychotherapy from an accredited University

  • If a recent graduate or recently licensed (in the last 6 months) you should be able to demonstrate that you have two years of full time equivalent experience under the supervision of a licensed counselling psychotherapist or a registered clinical social worker, and in the last 5 years had experience with providing cognitive behavioural therapy (at a minimum) and trauma processing therapy (i.e. CPT) for adults with PTSD, anxiety and mood disorder and other various mental health concerns.

Your duties and responsibilities:
The qualified candidate should be able to conduct a thorough clinical interview, develop and deliver a treatment plan and will be competent in the provision of a number of evidence-based orientations of psychotherapy including CBT, CPT, and ACT. Competence in providing EMDR would be an asset.

The qualified candidate has excellent observational skills and report writing skills for progress and discharge reports. The qualified candidate participates and works cooperatively and respectfully with the clinical director, business director, other clinical staff, support staff and all clients and their families.

The qualified candidate may, at times, have the opportunity to provide supervision of students from local universities within their area of expertise.

The qualified candidate should be able to complete progress notes, progress reports and discharge summaries in a timely manner.

The qualified candidate should be able to work from a seated position for extended periods of time for the purpose of providing psychotherapy for concerns of a behavioral, psychological, and or neurocognitive nature and may at times work with client’s family members as well. The qualified candidate should be able to lift 20 pounds and reach into deep filing cabinets (as low as 2 feet from the floor and as high as 5 feet from the floor) for files and other practice materials.

The qualified candidate should be comfortable using multiple digital platforms with laptop, desktop and tablets (testing programs, digital file system, email, e-fax system) and in maintaining and closing a physical and digital client therapy file.

The qualified candidate should be comfortable in contacting clients to reschedule missed appointments or cancelled appointments when required.

The qualified candidate should be comfortable in coordinating their work pace to meet referral source expectations and be sensitive to the schedules of our two part-time virtual support staff and other clinical staff.

The qualified candidate will communicate hours worked on a weekly basis to the billing clerk as needed and maintain a spreadsheet of hours worked and duties performed for each client. The qualified candidate will provide a bi-weekly timesheet to the business director for review and approval prior to their payroll being released by the accounting staff.

The Department of Social Development is seeking qualified individuals to work as Social Workers with After Hours Emergency Social Services (AHESS) in the Client Service Delivery Support Branch. The service is located in Moncton, however a telework option from various locations across the province will be considered.

 

The Department is responsible for providing quality programs and services to all New Brunswickers including children, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities.  AHESS provides an emergency response capacity for Social Development programs and services after regular business hours. The service is offered from 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. during weekdays and on a 24-hour basis on weekends and holidays. The social workers on duty assess referrals and service requests for Child Protection, Children in Care, and Adult Protection to determine the appropriate priority response, as well as approve emergency special benefits for the Income Support Program.  Successful candidates will also be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff members, professionals, community and volunteer agencies, government departments and the public. Other related duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager of the Primary Health Care Integrated Services Network, the

incumbent works closely with the primary health care providers in the integrated services

include assessment, crisis intervention, short-term intervention, counselling and referral to

appropriate resources based on needs. The successful candidate will use a person-centred

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you be responsible for conducting intakes, case management, group facilitation, and providing therapy for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions. Client Care Accountabilities

  • Provide individual trauma therapy utilizing Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Conduct efficient and effective clinical client assessments (mental health history, risk assessment, trauma, and addictions).
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (based on ACT, sleep education, DBT skills, mindfulness, and family support).
  • Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, or discharge planning.
  • Assist in grounding and reflection post-psychopharmacological treatment.
  • Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with:
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder

Team Collaboration Accountabilities

  • Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload, within a rotating therapist model.
  • Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about issues related to client care.
  • Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources.

 Administrative Accountabilities

  • Ensure same-day completion of session notes.
  • Complete assessment reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources.
  • Attend relevant clinical meetings, including but not limited to WorkSafe NB (Return to Work) and other programs.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Social Worker is required.
