For families: strained family relationships, marital issues, concerns about children, improving communication, conflict resolution, building trust and understanding, improving the family dynamic. For individuals: mental health challenges including depression & anxiety, interpersonal stress, burnout, major life changes, trauma, grief, or to further personal growth and achieve greater self-knowledge. You will be provided with access to a counselling/practice management program, administrative support, and the flexibility to create your own schedule.

SERVICE: Primary Health Care CLASSIFICATION: Social Worker 1 (SW01) EXPECTED START DATE: as soon as possible SCHEDULE: Day shifts - Monday to Friday Work schedule may change depending on operational needs.
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager of the Primary Health Care Integrated Services Network, the incumbent works closely with the primary health care providers in the integrated services network and in partnership with the community receiving services. This role requires interprofessional and intersectoral collaboration. The main responsibilities of this position include assessment, crisis intervention, short-term intervention, counselling and referral to appropriate resources based on needs. The successful candidate will use a person-centred approach by providing support tailored to individual needs with a view to improving the individual’s quality of life as well as to promoting effective and efficient use of resources.
REQUIREMENTS: × Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers; × One year of experience in mental health or addiction services considered an asset; × Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training or commitment to take the training as soon as possible × after hire; × Commitment to take the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) within set time × period; × Ability to develop effective partnerships with the community network; × Ability to provide clients with group sessions; × Good knowledge of computer tools; × Clinical judgment and good analytical reasoning; × Leadership and good decision-making ability; × Proven communication and interpersonal skills; × Adaptability and flexibility; × Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities; × Valid driver’s licence and ability to use own vehicle in performance of duties; × Availability to travel within the zone; × Ability to work independently and as a team member; × Physical ability to perform assigned duties; × Good previous work history (performance and attendance); × Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network management philosophy, and organizational values; × Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Network.
Knowledge of spoken and written French and spoken English is required.
